US voters were asked to compare political parties to animals — and Dems were the weakest, slowest kind: reportNew Foto - US voters were asked to compare political parties to animals — and Dems were the weakest, slowest kind: report

Some voters think the Democratic Party should trade the donkey for the sloth or a "deer in the headlights," according to the revelations of a consultant who's conducted more than 200 focus groups. Democratic researcher Anat Shenker-Osorio told the New York Times that voters she's spoken with tell her that Democrats would be the meekest and slowest members of the animal kingdom. Shenker-Osorio will typically ask the swing voters in some 250 focus groups to compare the two political parties to animals in hopes of getting people to divulge their true feelings. The difference between the two sides is stark as theDemocratic Party continues to lose supportamong key demographics and has poor approval scores. Dems are usually labeled as tortoises, slugs or sloths by voters, Shenker-Osorio told the Times. One Democratic woman, who lives in Georgia, even said earlier this year she sees the party as "a deer in the headlight." "You stand there and you see the car coming, but you're going to stand there and get hit with it anyway," Shenker-Osorio recalled the woman saying. Meanwhile, Republicans are typically seen as lions, tigers and sharks by voters because those animals are "apex predators," the researcher told the Times. The Democrats' current mascot, the donkey, first emerged in the late 1820s when Andrew Jackson was running for president. Shenker-Osorio told the newspaperDemocratic voterswant lawmakers ready to take action instead of "navel-gazing" following the 2024 election of President Trump over former Vice President Kamala Harris. "Voters are hungry for people to actually stand up for them — or get caught trying," she said. "The party is doing a lot of navel-gazing and not enough full-belly acting."

Trump: Foreign students at Harvard taking US spotsNew Foto - Trump: Foreign students at Harvard taking US spots

President Trump on Sunday expressednew frustrationswith Harvard University, arguing the school should turn over the names of foreign students and that U.S. students are not getting to go to Harvard because places are being taken by students from other countries. "I don't have a problem with foreign students. But it shouldn't be 31 percent. It's too much, because we have Americans who want to go there, and to other places, and they can't go there because there's 31 percent foreigners," Trump said from the tarmac in Morristown, N.J., where he was preparing to take off for Washington, D.C. The number of foreign students at Harvard is actually 27 percent of its total enrollment. Foreign students at Harvard and other schools tend to pay full tuition, providing an economic boost to the U.S. and effectively subsidizing costs for U.S. students. Trump has threatened to cut off federal grants to Harvard over fights related to his efforts to end all diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs as well as battles about campus pro-Palestinian demonstrations, which the Trump administration has blamed in part on foreign radicals. Much of the administration's focus has seemed to be centered on getting specific information on foreign students. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has targeted foreign students who have been involved in campus protests or even merely written letters to the editor in support of the people of Gaza, moving to deport them. In some cases, government agents have been videotaped taking people off the streets, a fact that has underscored concerns on campuses across the country. Trump on Sunday put some of his focus on the issue of needing information on international students while also airing grievances about U.S. students losing spots at Harvard to people from other countries. "Look, part of the problem with Harvard is that, they are about 31 percent, almost 31 percent of foreigners coming to Harvard. We give them billions of dollars, which is ridiculous. We do grants, which we're probably not going to be doing much grants anymore to Harvard, but they're 31 percent, but they refuse to tell us who the people are. We want to know the people." Trump claimed that with regard to many of the foreign students, "we wouldn't have a problem" with them. Harvard on Friday sued the Trump administration after DHS revoked its certification to admit foreign students. In the suit, Harvard said international students were a critical part of the university's community and that failing to admit them would cause irrevocable harm. "Without its international students, Harvard is not Harvard," thecomplaint from Harvard reads. Harvard President Alan Garber characterized the government's actions as an effort to lash out at Harvard over its "refusal to surrender our academic independence and to submit to the federal government's illegal assertion of control over our curriculum, our faculty and our student body." "With the stroke of a pen, the government has sought to erase a quarter of Harvard's student body, international students who contribute significantly to the University and its mission," the lawsuit read. Former Vice President Kamala Harris was angry over former President Biden donning a Trump 2024 hat during an event in September 2024, which quickly went viral on social media at the time, according to Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson's new book. "What is he doing?" the former vice president asked her team in response to the video, according to the book. "This is completely unhelpful. And so unnecessary." A video of the former presidentdonning a Trump 2024 hat went viral in September 2024. A video of Biden at the Shanksville Fire Station in Pennsylvania showed the president taking the Trump 2024 campaign hat from a Trump supporter and putting it on top of his own hat, in what the White House said at the time was a friendly gesture of unity. According to the book, "Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again," that was the last time Harris would do a public event with Biden prior to the election. Read On The Fox News App The former president also called Trumpsupporters "garbage" duringa campaign call for Harris. "Donald Trump has no character. He doesn't give a damn about the Latino community," Biden said. "Just the other day, a speaker at his rally called Puerto Rico a floating island of garbage. "The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters. His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it's un-American," the former president said. "I strongly disagree with any criticism of people based on who they vote for," Harris said. "You heard my speech last night and continuously throughout my career. I believe that the work that I do is about representing all the people, whether they support me or not." The book also revealedthat the former president recorded several 2024 campaign videos that were ultimately deemed "unusable" due to his missteps. In one case, Biden's team sought to film a video for the campaign for ads on television in a high school gym where people could ask questions like they would at a town hall meeting. "The campaign was trying to make it look like the president was out there taking off-the-cuff questions from voters in public," the book said. "But the event was closed to reporters, and the campaign had the full list of questions that people would ask." However, Biden had so much "trouble" getting through the questions that his team decided to scrap the footage. While some attributed challenges to poor lighting in the gym, the book said that others identified Biden as the real problem. Fox News' Diana Stancy contributed to this report. Trump hints at 'good news' on IranNew Foto - Trump hints at 'good news' on Iran

President Trump on Sunday said his administration had "some very good talks with Iran" and suggested that positive news could be coming from the negotiations. "Let's see what happens, but I think we can have some good news on the Iran front," Trump told reporters from the tarmac in Morristown, N.J., ahead of his departure for Washington, D.C. Delegations from the U.S. and Iran wrapped up a fifth round of talks on a potential new nuclear agreement in Rome on Friday. Trump during his first term withdrew the U.S. from a nuclear deal the Obama administration had negotiated but has since launched new efforts meant to curb Iran's nuclear ambitions and prevent a war. Iranian officials, according to areport by NBC, also described the most recent talks as positive. "We have just completed one of the most professional rounds of talks. … We firmly stated Iran's position. … The fact that we are now on a reasonable path, in my view, is itself a sign of progress," Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told state TV, according to NBC. "The proposals and solutions will be reviewed in respective capitals … andthe next round of talkswill be scheduled accordingly." Trump on Sunday also said there had been good talks with Hamas on Gaza, and that he continued to hold talks with Israel. On Iran, he said he did not know if he would be "telling anything good or bad, but I have a feeling we'll be telling you something good." Trump covered several topics while talking to reporters, including his frustrationwith Russia President Vladimir Putin and his willingness to accept changes to his "big, beautiful" tax cuts bill as it moves to the Senate. While two Senate GOP conservativesraised doubtsabout the bill on Sunday, Trump expressed confidence. "I think the Senate is going to get there," he said, even if there are some changes both minor and significant to the bill. "The Speaker has been working with the leader of the Senate," he said of Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.). He said the two had done a great job and "hopefully that'll be fine." Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. President Donald Trump says Russian leader Vladimir Putin 'has gone absolutely CRAZY!'New Foto - President Donald Trump says Russian leader Vladimir Putin 'has gone absolutely CRAZY!'

WASHINGTON (AP) — PresidentDonald Trumpmade it clear he is losing patience with Vladimir Putin, leveling some of his sharpest criticism at the Russian leader asMoscow pounded Kyivand other Ukrainian cities with drones and missiles for a third straight night. "I've always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him. He has gone absolutely CRAZY!" Trump wrote in a social media post on Sunday night. Trump said Putin is "needlessly killing a lot of people," pointing out that "missiles and drones are being shot into Cities in Ukraine, for no reason whatsoever." The attack was the largest aerial assault since Russia's full-scale invasion of the country in February 2022, according to Ukrainian officials. At least 12 people were killed and dozens injured. The U.S. president warned that if Putin wants to conquer all of Ukraine, it will "lead to the downfall of Russia!" But Trump expressed frustration with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as well, saying that he is "doing his Country no favors by talking the way he does." "Everything out of his mouth causes problems, I don't like it, and it better stop," Trump wrote on social media. The president has increasingly voiced irritation at Putin and the inability to resolve the now three-year-old war, which Trump promised he would promptly end as he campaigned to return to the White House. He had long boasted of his friendly relationship with Putin and repeatedly stressed that Russia is more willing than Ukraine to reach a peace deal. But last month, Trump urged Putin to "STOP!" assaulting Ukraine after Russia launched another deadly barrage of attacks on Kyiv, and he has repeatedly expressed his frustration that the war in Ukraine is continuing. "I'm not happy with what Putin's doing. He's killing a lot of people. And I don't know what the hell happened to Putin," Trump told reporters earlier Sunday as he departed northern New Jersey, where he spent most of the weekend. "I've known him a long time, always gotten along with him, but he's sending rockets into cities and killing people and I don't like it at all. " A peace agreement between Russia and Ukraineremains elusive. Trump and Putin spoke on the phone this past week, and Trump announced after the call that Russia and Ukraine will "immediately" begin ceasefire talks. That conversation occurred after Russian and Ukrainian officials met in Turkey for the first face-to-face talks since 2022. But on Thursday, the Kremlin said no direct talks were scheduled. The European Union has slapped new sanctions on Russia this month in response to Putin's refusal to agree to a ceasefire. But while Trumphas threatenedto step up sanctions and tariffs on Russia, he hasn't acted so far.
