President Trump's "big, beautiful bill" passed the House on Thursday after lawmakers wrestled with the legislation during an all-night session. The GOP spending bill now rests before a weary upper chamber as Medicaid reforms and deficit expansion remain concerns for Senate Republicans. House SpeakerMike Johnson(R-La.) has urged his colleagues not to tamper with the bill's language, citing a very "delicate equilibrium" reached between the party's fiscal hawks and Republicans in blue states pushing for tax breaks. Still, Senate Majority LeaderJohn Thune(R-S.D.) has alreadyraised severalslated revisions. Johnson will likely discuss the bill during his appearance on CNN's "State of the Union," Fox News' "Fox News Sunday" and CBS' "Face the Nation." 'This Motherf*ker': Kamala Harris Wasn't Too Pleased With Anderson Cooper After Post-Debate Grilling, Book ClaimsNew Foto - 'This Motherf*ker': Kamala Harris Wasn't Too Pleased With Anderson Cooper After Post-Debate Grilling, Book Claims

Former Vice President Kamala Harris reportedly called CNN's Anderson Cooper a "motherfucker" to her colleagues after being pressed about former President Joe Biden's mental decline, according to a new book. CNN's Jake Tapper and Axios' Alex Thompson released a new book, "Original Sin," Tuesday detailing the mental decline of Biden during his time in office. According to Tapper and Thompson, Harris' comment about Cooper came after he pressed her on Biden'scognitive stateimmediately after his disastrous debate against President Donald Trump. "This motherfucker doesn't treat me like the damn vice president of the United States, she said to colleagues," the book states. "I thought we were better than that." Democrats and media punditssupportingBiden for the party's presidential nominee quickly turned against him after he debated Trump in June 2024.(RELATED: Victor Davis Hanson Says Tapper's Biden Flip-Flop Proves It Was Always About Politics) Democratic presidential nominee, U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris (L) speaks as CNN moderator Anderson Cooper looks on during a Presidential Town Hall at Sun Center Studios on October 23, 2024 in Aston, Pennsylvania. (Photo by Andrew Harnik/Getty Images) Despite concerns from Republicans over Biden's mental decline, Democrats only began to sound alarms over Biden's age after he was seen struggling to finish his arguments andfreezing mid-sentence. The debate between the two leaders quicklysparked callsfor the former president to step aside from the race and hand the nomination to another Democratic colleague. According to the book, Harris' aides had attempted to encourage her to cancel post-debate interviews. However, the former vice president appeared on CNN the same night as the debate, only to be grilled by Cooper overconcernsfrom Democrats that had begun. As Cooper relayed to Harris how party lawmakers were already labeling Biden's performance as a "train wreck" and "disaster," Harris pushed back, claiming that it had just been a "slow start" to the evening. "I got the point that you're making about a one-and-a-half-hour debate tonight — I'm talking about three and a half years of performance and work that has been historic," Harris responded. While Harris attempted to highlight her administration's policies, Cooper continued to call out how her and Biden's team had requested the debate in the first place. "This was a debate that your campaign wanted. You pushed for this debate at this moment. You can't honestly say — I mean can you say that you are not concerned at all having watched the president's performance tonight?" Cooper asked. "It was a slow start. That's obvious to everyone — I'm not going to debate that point," Harris said. New insight on how Biden and his team were operating during his four years in office has been revealed through Tapper and Thompson's book. According to their reporting, Biden's mental state becameso severethat aides discussed putting him in a wheelchair at one point. In a recent interview, TappertoldSiriusXM's Megyn Kelly that he and his co-host Dana Bash had immediate concerns for Biden during his debate, with Tapper writing "holy smokes" to his team as he was moderating the debate. Poll: Memorial Day is one of country's more important holidaysNew Foto - Poll: Memorial Day is one of country's more important holidays

(The Center Square) – Memorial Day, a day set aside to commemorate and mourn those members of the U.S. military who lost their lives serving their country, is Monday. American voters consider it one of the most important holidays of the year. Napolitan News Service surveyed 1,000 registered U.S. voters and asked: "Is Memorial Day one of our nation's most important holidays, least important, or somewhere in between?" The poll found that 44% of respondents say it is one of the most important holidays, while 10% said it was one of the least and 42% said somewhere in between. Four percent of voters said they are not sure. "The only holidays that are more highly rated are Christmas (58%), July 4th (49%), and Veterans Day (47%)," Napolitan News Service said. Four in 10 voters said they planned to celebrate the holiday by spending time with family, grilling out, going to a parade or a speech. Forty percent (40%) of all voters plan to do something special to celebrate, including half (50%) of Republicans and 36% of Democrats. "Unsurprisingly, the holiday is seen as more important among those who served in the military or lost someone in a military conflict," Napolitan said. "Among those who served in the military, 62% of voters call Memorial Day one of that nation's most important holidays. Fifty-six percent (56%) of those who have a close friend or family member who died in a military conflict say the same." The survey was conducted online by pollster Scott Rasmussen May 19-20. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.

Argentina reeling from poverty, pensioner hardship, says archbishop in sermonNew Foto - Argentina reeling from poverty, pensioner hardship, says archbishop in sermon

BUENOS AIRES (Reuters) -The Archbishop of Buenos Aires used his pulpit on Sunday to voice criticism of Argentine President Javier Milei's policies addressing poverty and support for pensioners. At the Te Deum religious ceremony for the anniversary of the May Revolution of 1810, where Milei, a libertarian, and his cabinet were present, Archbishop Jorge Garcia Cuerva told the congregation that in Argentina "fraternity, tolerance, and respect are dying." "Our country is bleeding. So many brothers and sisters suffer marginalization and exclusion," said Garcia Cuerva, who heads the archdiocese of Buenos Aires, the former home base of Pope Francis. He called for support for the poor, young people who are victims of drug trafficking and pensioners. "Retirees deserve a dignified life with access to medicine and food, a wound that has remained open and bleeding for years, but as a society we must heal it soon," Garcia Cuerva said. Milei has implemented sweeping public spending cuts since taking office at the end of 2023 in a bid to control the country's years-long economic crisis. Pensioners, who have been badly hit by the cuts, protest in the streets every Wednesday and often face police repression. Garcia Cuerva also referred to the "constant aggression" on social media and called for a "stop to hate." "We have crossed all boundaries. Disqualification, constant aggression, mistreatment, and defamation seem to be commonplace," the archbishop said. During Garcia Cuerva's comments, Milei was seen listening with a stern expression. Milei's government frequently uses social media to refer to politicians, economists and journalists who question its policies as "baboons," "degenerates," "underachievers," and "mongoloids."
